What Mechanical Intelligence is

Mechanical Intelligence is what an experienced mobile plant mechanic sees when they read a machine's records the way they'd read the machine itself. We take what you have, scheduled oil sampling (SOS) results, product status reports (PSR), dealer technical inspections (TA2), telematics and service history, and cross-reference it into one findings report.

Where a physical inspection is part of the scope, we fold it in. Where it isn't, the analysis stands on the records alone. No dashboard, no monitoring, no predictions. Just the depth of the read and the evidence chain behind every finding.

Asset Audit (pre-decision)

For a machine you're about to hire, buy, or commit to. A desktop review of the machine's data, telematics, maintenance history, and oil-analysis trends, with a physical inspection folded in where access is part of the scope. Consolidated into one findings report.

MI-02

Asset Audit (pre-rebuild)

The same workflow, framed for a major capex call. Before component rebuild money is committed, the audit establishes what the evidence in hand actually shows about the machine.

MI-03

Asset Comparison Report

Two candidate machines, weighed side by side from supplied evidence packs and inspection. The report states which machine the evidence favours and the conditions attached to that finding.

What you receive

One consolidated findings report, written for the procurement or capex meeting it will be read in. The same Evidence Taxonomy used in every RedSpec report applies here: each finding is tagged by its source and rated for confidence, so the analysis can be interrogated line by line.

Where evidence is missing, the report says so. An audit that overstates its own certainty is worth less than no audit at all.

How it works

  1. 01

    Scoping call

    The engagement is scoped to the decision it supports: what is being decided, by when, and what evidence already exists.

  2. 02

    Evidence collection

    You supply what you have (telematics exports, maintenance history, oil analysis, prior reports). RedSpec inspects the machine where physical access is part of the scope.

  3. 03

    Analysis

    The physical findings and the desktop evidence are cross-referenced. Where the records and the machine disagree, that gets called out.

  4. 04

    Findings report

    One consolidated report, every finding tagged by evidence source and rated for confidence, written for the meeting where the decision gets made.

Common questions

01 What is the difference between an ACR and an Asset Audit?

An ACR records the condition of the machine as inspected on the day. An Asset Audit adds the desktop evidence (telematics, maintenance history, oil-analysis trends) and cross-references it against the physical findings, scoped to a specific decision.

02 What evidence do I need to supply?

Whatever you have: telematics or payload exports, maintenance and service history, oil analysis results, prior inspection reports. Gaps are fine; anything missing is tagged as such in the report rather than guessed at.

03 Does the Comparison Report tell us which machine to take?

It states which machine the supplied evidence favours, and on what conditions. The commercial call stays with you; the report exists so that call is made on evidence rather than on the seller's word.

04 Is this a monitoring platform or dashboard?

No. There is no software, no sensors, and no subscription. Mechanical Intelligence is a report: a one-off, evidence-tagged piece of analysis built for a specific decision.

05 Who is it for?

Asset managers, procurement leads, rebuild contractors, and fleet owners with real money about to move on a machine. If the decision is smaller than that, a standard ACR is usually the better fit.
