About

Built on the tools

RedSpec Mobile Plant & Equipment inspects mobile plant and heavy equipment across mining, civil, hire, and industrial assets in Western Australia. Visual condition, functional performance, full mechanical assessment, scoped to the decision the report is supporting.

We're set up to do this work properly: photo-rich, plain-English, evidence-tagged. We don't sell parts, do repairs, or quote work, which means the report sits separate from any deal. The decision (repair, defer, dispose, proceed, walk away) is yours.

RedSpec was built by Cowan Roberts: a trade-qualified mobile plant mechanic with around ten years maintaining and diagnosing mining equipment across WA. The years on the tools are what the reports are built on. When a defect register says a pin is worn or a final drive is weeping, it is because the person who wrote it has pulled those components apart for a living.

The work runs WA wide from a Perth base: mine sites, civil projects, hire yards, and auction houses. ABN 33 690 939 747.

Foundations

What the work stands on

Structural independence

No machine sales, no parts, no repairs, no commissions. Independence here is how the business is built, with nothing in the structure that profits from the findings going one way or the other.

Evidence behind every finding

Every defect in the register carries its evidence: the photo, the SMCS system code, a severity rank, and a plain-English observation. Ratings are Good, Fair or Poor per system, and anything that could not be accessed is recorded as not assessed, never guessed.

Trade-qualified authority

The person writing the report is the mechanic who held the torch. Around ten years on WA mining mobile plant, on the tools, before RedSpec existed.

Written to use

Plain English, photos beside findings, severity rankings you can sort a repair plan by. A report that needs translating was written for the wrong reader.

Coverage

WA wide from a Perth base

Mine sites, civil projects, hire yards, and auction houses. Travel is quoted with the job up front, and remote site work is scheduled around site access.

Marked locations are a sample; the work goes wherever the machine is.

Get the machine looked at properly.

Tell us the machine, where it is, and the decision the report has to support. Quote usually within one business day.
